№ 01WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE GALLIOVA AWARDS?
Recognises top food and health/wellness media and content creators in South Africa
Presented annually and sponsored by the South African Poultry Association’s (SAPA’s) Egg and Broiler Producers
Celebrates excellence in promoting food and health/wellness culture
Strong focus on supporting locally produced poultry products (eggs and/or chicken)
Use of South African eggs and/or chicken is a key judging criterion
Open to creators across multiple platforms: print, digital, online, and social media (with established followings), according to category specifications

№ 02WHEN IS THE CLOSING DATE?
Entries for the Galliova Awards 2026 are now open
Deadline: 16:00, Friday 28 August 2026
Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted
No assistance with entry preparation, but queries are supported

№ 03WHAT ARE THE 2026 GALLIOVA AWARDS JUDGES LOOKING FOR?
Entries are judged within their specific categories according to set criteria:
Food Category:
High-quality food writing
Promotion of affordable eating
Strong visual appeal and food styling
Creativity and originality
Practical tips and useful information
Emphasis on including eggs and/or chicken (not just a mention)
Health Category:
Overall excellence in health and wellness content
Strong understanding of health topics
Use of evidence-based, scientific references
Inclusion of eggs and/or chicken in content (not just a mention)

№ 04HOW IS AN ENTRY JUDGED?
First seven categories:
Judges use score sheets based on set criteria
Scores are tallied and reviewed in the final judging session
Adjustments are discussed and agreed upon collectively
An independent auditor oversees the final session for fairness and transparency
Galliova Up & Coming Content Creator award:
Open to entrants who have entered three (3) times or less
No separate entry required
Judges identify eligible entrants and decide if the award is merited
Discretionary prizes:
Not guaranteed to be awarded
Given only if an entrant stands out for a specific reason

№ 05WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME FOR CONTENT INCLUDED IN AN ENTRY?
Print media: Must be published between October 2025 – September 2026 (PDFs for September issues accepted)
Online/social media content: Must be published between September 2025 – August 2026

№ 06DO I SELECT CATEGORIES TO ENTER?
Yes, entrants may select up to a maximum of three (3) categories
Entrants must choose categories they qualify for based on criteria
The Up & Coming Content Creator category and Discretionary prizes will be decided by the judges based on merit. No separate entry is required for these categories

№ 07HOW DO I ENTER:
Online entry platform remains mostly unchanged from last year
Fill out the entry form and wait for a link to your entry repository
Maximum of three (3) categories per entrant
Create one PDF folder per category
Complete a checklist before uploading
Upload each PDF to the correct category “box”
NB: All entrants must carefully read the Notes to Entrants and Terms & Conditions before submitting an entry.
№ 08HOW DO I PREPARE AN ENTRY?
Enter up to three (3) categories, with one (1) PDF per category
Include all relevant content in one continuous PDF per category (not separate files per piece)
Online content must include a screen grab and a working, accessible link (no paywalls)
Upload PDFs via your personal repository using the link provided (drag and drop)
Entries can be edited or cancelled until 16:00 on 28 August 2026
